Planting Instructions

Once you have your Hoodia Shoots, you need to water them, but not just in regular tub water. First you heat the water up to boiling point to purify it. When it is cooled down to about 35 degrees Celsius you put the Hoodia Shoots in it for 24 hours.

Meanwhile you need to prepare a mixture of 2/3 coarse sand and 1/3 cactus soil. Into this mixture you put the watered Hoodia Shoots, about 1,5 cm deep. For about two weeks, you need to water it every second day, but once you see the first signs of the plants on the surface, you cut down the watering to once a week. After a month, give your Hoodia some fertilizer.

From now on, you treat it like any other pot plant in your house. Keep it away from cold temperatures and water it from time to time. From November until March, your Hoodia Gordonii needs almost no water and in spring, once the temperature is above 18 degrees Celsius, you can put your very own Hoodia Gordonii, the "Queen of the Namib" out of the pot and put it in your garden.
